How have Humans impacted Grasslands?
Positive Ways:
-National Parks containing Grasslands protect them
-Organizations replant damaged Grasslands
-Laws have been passed against hunting endangered species in Grasslands, such as Bison
Negative Ways:
-Humans have planted crops over much of the area once covered by grasslands in the Midwest
-Development and building has destroyed even more grassland
-Too much farming of Grasslands Caused the Dust Bowl in the early 1900s.
-Climate change caused by Global Warming has left Grasslands vulnerable
-Fires are a natural part of Grasslands. Humans have caused too many fires and stopped natural ones, disrupting the natural order.
